Elder (Mrs.) Margaret Obono hails from Idomi, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State and was born to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Brown EnoIferi. She had her education at Saint Michaels Primary School, Kaduna; Federal Government Girls College, Calabar; University of Nigeria, Nsukka and West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.


She has held various positions some of which are Chairman, Association of Lady Pharmacists (2005-2009); Ex-Officio Member, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Lagos; Ex-Officio Member, Association of Lady Pharmacists, Lagos; Chairman Planning Committee, Pharmaceutical Society Nigeria Annual Luncheon (2008-2010); Member, LOC 80th Conference of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (2007); Member, Pharmacy House Commissioning Committee (2006); Member, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Election Screening Committee (2006 & 2009); Current Secretary, Faculty of Hospital Pharmacy, WAPCP; Current Secretary, Committee of Heads of Pharmacy in Federal Health Institutions; Current Chairman, Heads of Department Committee, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos; Member, Top Management Committee, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos; Member, Curriculum Drafting Committee of Community Based Health Rehabilitation Assistants Program, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos; (2004); Member, Strategic Planning Committee, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos (2006);

Elder (Mrs.) Obono is the immediate Past Women’s Guild President; Current Coordinator, Medical Services and Current Chairman, Congregational Board of Lagos Presbyterian Church, Yaba.

Margaret is a recipient of various awards including Merit Award from the Association of Lady Pharmacists (2007); Merit Award from the Women’s Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) – 2001; Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, President’s Award – 2006; Young Pharmaceutical Forum Gold Mentor Award – 2008; Merit Award, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Lagos – 2009; Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students Award – 2009.

She has presented several papers locally and internationally. She is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria; Fellow West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation.

Margaret is married to Mr. Lawrence Obono and blessed with children. She loves ministering to the sick and less privileged.
